Sesame Workshop is the nonprofit educational organization behind the beloved children’s TV show Sesame Street. They create a curriculum that addresses children’s critical development needs and use the power of media to teach and impact kids. And they do this globally in more than 150 countries.
We designed the Sesame Workshop website to educate new and existing partners about the Workshop’s research-centered model, initiatives, and programs around the world, as well as their proven results.
Sesame Workshop has over 40 local versions of Sesame Street that reach millions of children around the world. Each co-production is created with local educators and advisors to tailor to the unique needs of children, their country, and culture. To show the global reach of the Workshop, we used photography to feature the local productions and children throughout the site, including a group of South African children high-fiving Takalani Sesame Muppet Kami, an Egyptian girl with Khokha of Alam Simsim, and Elmo hanging out with a military family in the United States. We also designed a fur map of the world for people to explore the countries where Sesame Workshop works and learn about each country’s programs.
To inform prospective and existing partner organizations about how Sesame Workshop collaborates and delivers real, tangible change, we shared third-party validated results along with each initiative on a results page. We also created a visual timeline to show what Sesame Workshop has accomplished in the areas of literacy and numeracy, conflict resolution, health and wellness, and emotional wellbeing.
