Herman Miller designs to improve the human experience. Their close relationships with designers and architects enable solutions for people to live, work, and play. To share the architects’ perspective of design, we created a campaign that included a series of short films, photography, and a website.
To provide a range of perspectives on design, we selected five different architects—Marmol Radziner, JFAK Architects, LEANARCH, Cigolle x Coleman, and Jim Jennings—and directed interviews to get first-hand insight into the design thinking behind a home they’ve designed. By integrating photography and architectural drawings into the interviews, we created short films of each architect sharing their point of view, which included prefab, materials, indoor/outdoor, pattern, and diagonals. Together the films formed the POV series.
We created a website for POV as the destination to view all the short films. We also partnered with photographer Juergen Nogai, the former business partner of Julius Shulman, to photograph Herman Miller products in these homes.
The photographs were used in the website’s Inspired Spaces gallery for people to see the architects’ visions, get ideas for their own homes, and link to the Herman Miller store to learn more about the featured products.
POV was featured by design publications including Dwell, Fast Company, Core77, PSFK, Curbed, and Communication Arts. The campaign drove 25% of site visitors to the Herman Miller ecommerce store.
